Her work encompasses children’s books, fashion illustration, and commissioned work for Fortune 500 companies and luxury retailer Neiman Marcus. Susan created her own line of vibrant, stylized realism cowgirl and western art with her brand “Plum Sassy Cowgirls.” Those works have appeared in the National Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame in Fort Worth, TX, and the Montana Historical Society Magazine cover.

She was also honored to be the official artist for the Women’s National Finals Rodeo; is the exclusive illustrator for western designer Patricia Wolf; and you may find her original oil or watercolor works in galleries in Santa Fe and North Texas.

Susan resides in a lovely log cabin with her beloved dogs on the former cattle and cutting horse ranch founded by her and her late husband in Decatur, TX.

These nine woodland animals of the Texas Hill Country represent a 2019 private commission and one of her first forays into the world of watercolor.
